Schloss Fuschl
A symphony of design and history

Rosewood Schloss Fuschl combines elegance and tradition with its masterfully restored historic tower, stylishly modernized guest rooms, inviting lobby and magnificent public areas. Built back in 1461 as a hunting lodge for the Salzburg prince archbishops, it served as a venue for legendary hunts and royal gatherings for centuries. Over the years, the estate has played host to a select society, including famous film stars such as Romy Schneider, who filmed some scenes of the legendary Sisi film trilogy here, as well as many other internationally renowned personalities. Since its transformation into a luxury hotel in 1947, the estate has attracted worldwide attention for its incomparable beauty.

There is an evening atmosphere at Schloss Fuschl: in the middle of the picture, a footbridge leads out onto Lake Fuschl. On the right bank you can see the castle in a golden glow. The sun has just set. The light is reflected on the water.

Alpine panorama, meadows and pastures

Fantastic views of the lake and the surrounding mountains alternate with glimpses of various types of forest, meadows and pastures. The Fuschlseerundweg is a path that is mostly close to the lakeshore – only on the western shore, at Fuschl Castle and in the area where the Fuschler Ache flows out, does the path move away from the lakeshore a little, but leads through a scenically attractive nature reserve.

Schloss Fuschl stands for lifestyle: you can see the spa area with its elegant interior in beige and brown tones. The focal point is the linear pool, which is framed by angular columns. Lights are reflected on the water.

Mediterranean cuisine and Brettl snacks

Against the backdrop of Lake Fuschl, the lakeside terrace welcomes guests throughout the day in a relaxed atmosphere – perfect for a leisurely lunch or dinner at sunset. Located directly on the water, the See Club brings the spirit of a luxurious beach club to the Austrian Alps and invites its guests to spend cozy days and unforgettable evenings by the lake. Relaxation is particularly good in the luxurious cabanas, which are open to both hotel guests and external visitors. The menu includes light Mediterranean-style dishes. For wine lovers, walkers and hikers, the rustic vinotheque and its terrace offer a cozy meeting place to enjoy a traditional Austrian snack. The focus is on regional products, including a careful selection of Austrian wines. Guests can experience authentic Austrian delights with local specialties.

Schloss Fuschl – as a retreat

Guests can relax and enjoy a drink by the historic wooden fireplace, which dates back to the 15th century and was recently restored by Rosewood Schloss Fuschl. The intimate Whisky Room is an extension of the Schloss Bar and, with its stately design, offers a retreat for smaller and private gatherings. Here, guests can enjoy an extensive selection of spirits, schnapps and wines as well as bar snacks. The Sisi Tea Salon, a tribute to the hotel’s history as the setting for the legendary Sissi film trilogy, is an oasis of calm with its elegant design and exudes an atmosphere of warmth and hospitality. Guests can indulge in light meals throughout the day. This is accompanied by creative and delicious cakes and chocolates as well as afternoon tea – lovingly prepared by Pastry Chef Jeremie Baessler.

Lake Fuschl offers a somewhat mystical impression in muted shades of blue and gray. Sailing boats are moored on the calm lake. The Alps loom in the background. The sky is overcast.

Alpine experiences in every season

Whether exclusive guided tours through various museums, private concerts, balloon rides over the lake region or a visit to a traditional costume atelier with a focus on authentic Austrian costumes, every Rosewood Schloss Fuschl experience invites you to discover the magic of Salzburg and the Salzkammergut. The sprawling resort offers a variety of activities, including guided hikes in the mountains and other excursions in the region. Local master fisherman Gerhard Langmeier has been running the adjacent Schloss Fuschl fishery since 1987, where you can stop for a bite to eat and enjoy a smoked fish snack.

"Rosewood Schloss Fuschl is more than just a castle - it is the gateway to Austria's breathtaking Salzkammergut."
